A long aisle of knitting machines inside a textile mill

About OFFCUT

Made slowly, worn loudly.

01 — Manifesto

We started OFFCUT with the leftover rolls from a family mill outside Porto — the offcuts nobody wanted. Three generations of knitters had been making beautiful cloth for other people's labels. We thought it deserved its own name. So we make fewer things, from better fabric, close to home. We sell them directly, price them honestly, and when they wear through, we fix them. Forever.

0The year Avó Rosa bought her first circular knitting machine.
0gsm — the weight of our loopback. Twice a high-street hoodie.
0garments repaired for free since 2019.
0pieces per limited drop. Never remade.

02 — How it's made

Field to fit,
five stops.

Every Loopback Hoodie travels 1,900 km before it reaches you — most of it inside a 60 km circle around Porto.

  1. Black and white close-up of open cotton bolls
    01

    Cotton

    Aegean coast, Türkiye

GOTS-certified organic cotton, rain-fed and hand-checked for long staple — the reason our fleece doesn't pill.

  2. A roll of white fabric coming off a knitting machine
    02

    Knit

    Barcelos, Portugal

Loopback knitted slowly on 1980s circular machines. Slower knitting means denser cloth — 480 grams of it per square metre.

  3. Stacks of folded garment-dyed fabric in blue and green
    03

    Dye

    Guimarães, Portugal

Garment-dyed after sewing, in a closed-loop dye house that recycles 92% of its water. It's why every piece looks lived-in from day one.

  4. Hands guiding fabric through a sewing machine
    04

    Cut & sew

    Porto, Portugal

Twelve people, one workshop, no production line. Each hoodie is sewn start to finish by one pair of hands — they sign the inside label.

  5. Close-up of a presser foot stitching blue fabric
    05

    Repair

    Forever

Send it back when it wears through. Cuffs, seams, holes — fixed free, for the life of the garment. 11,000 and counting.

03 — The people

Twelve people.
One workshop.

No agencies, no factories we've never visited. These are the people who design, knit, sew and repair everything we sell.

Where your $128 goes.

No wholesale, no seasonal markdowns, no inflated “original” prices. Here's the real cost of a Loopback Hoodie — next to how it'd be priced the usual way.

    05 — Since 1961

    Three generations, one mill.

    1. 1961Avó Rosa buys a second-hand circular knitter and starts making jersey for Porto tailors.

    3. 2019Inês and Rui turn the leftover rolls into 200 hoodies. They sell out in a weekend.
    4. 2026Twelve people, one workshop on Rua das Flores, and a repair bench that's never empty.
